Where to start

I've been running through my head of ideas for our mantel on the 'current' house.

The last one, our tele was on it, but this one, I opted to not put it up there. Instead of hanging it on the wall and attempting to come up with something. Our ceilings are the same height, 10', but the mantel is lower.

So this is where I have started for height.


It's a tad over 48" (maybe 4'1"). I knew I wanted some 'sticks', I'm just cheap when it comes to stuff like this and didn't want to spend $20 per stick.

So I found these little dodads at my local grocery store for 10 buckaroos per bundle, so I snatched up two.

They were in water, so I spread them out on a piece of paper in the garage for about a week to dry out. Then sprayed with red paint.

Found the eggs and sprayed them with the blue and viola!







I cannot figure out why the pics turned out so 'yellow', but there isn't a thing in this house that is....so, so sorry! And I really, really didn't want to take it all out, I broke some getting it in the first time. Definitely doesn't do it justice...

Some little Lovlies

I picked up these little girls at an estate sale a year or so ago, and I just recently got around to changing them up.

I painted and recovered most of the chair, except the removable cushions. I stumbled upon a sweet lady who recovered them in record speed and for a great price, which equals a happy lady right here!

Did I fail to mention the awesome job she did? Well, awesome was the job she did...I think I'm in love, I have so many 'projects' for her ;)

In our past home the chairs were in our bedroom, now they are in the entry way. (The mister pointed out how many seating areas we have in our casa the other day....nice!)

They needed a totally different look and a friend pointed out how comfy they were, that's a plus!

Sit by me

Decided that I needed to post a few of my before's and after's on the smaller projects...mostly furniture, together in the same post instead of scattered all over who knows where.

Here, together in the same, are the chairs that were used for the party last weekend.

Party Ready

Finished up the chairs, as mentioned in my previous post, this past weekend and the owner recovered them herself and they are now party ready, yipee!

It turned out great, but I have feeling the blue and red fabric will change out with the next party ;)

Laundry Series, Part 1

I have been thinking for a while now I need to start a laundry series for all of the random things that are in the basket of dirty clothes when I sort.

This isn't the first time this has happened....just the first time I remembered to take pics....

Last Day?

As we moseyed on over to dance yesterday, it occurred to me that this might be the last visitors day, mayyybe.

I can never keep it straight on what time it is, let alone what day out of the month it is.

So, I decided to snap a few, since it would be a while before I watched another practice of the littlest one, I think...

I got to sit by the mostest handsomest lil' cowboy around...


Who happened to be cool enough, er, shall I say, wranglin' enough to bring the most rockin', whoops, sorry... most toughest, roughest, bull ridin' blankee...


Dancing, and yelling...I mean singing LOUD...




I guess it was bright leaving, gotta double it up...
