Wednesday's Wearings

I have been wanting to start a series for a while now, along with a good friend, and after talking with her, and getting my thoughts together, I think I MIGHT have got it.....just maybe.

(don't laugh....clearly, I am NOT a good writer, and it's late)

I wanted this to be about YOUR & MY personal style. A lot of people feel as if you need to dress a certain way, or they lose their style after having a baby or running kids around every which way. Don't get me wrong, there is an appropriate way to dress, especially when at different events. But that doesn't me you have to totally change your personal style all together. You still need to be YOU (I'm preaching to myself here).

I feel as if I have many looks, it just depends on the day...and what my job is for the day ;).

A lot of my so called outfits, that come into my wardrobe a lot, and don't necessarily define me or my style is:
'Painter'
'Exercise'
'When it's super duper cold'
'When it's insanely hot'
'Cleaning'
'I don't wanna'
and last but not least... 'the mom clothes'

I just pray that I don't have any of the last one mentioned...the mister might disagree though.

I try, I really do, to be, in some way, thrifty with what I buy. But, I do have some things that I think, for me, are worth the splurge.

Worth it:
Jeans
A few nice dresses
Heels
Athletic/Running shoes
A nice handbag

Maybe not so much:
Everyday tops
Accessories
Flip flops
Hair Accessories
A bag to throw everything in to hurry out the door

Here is my problem. I do NOT have one definite style. It ranges from rocker chic, to modern, to boho chic, to classic....sigh.... depends on my mood when I wake up, and the weather.

My plan is, for now anyways, to post once a week, where I challenge you to be you, and I'll (try, anyways;)) be me. I'll post either the brand or where the clothing, shoes and accessories came from. MOST come from my closet that I have had!

This week's pick is a dress. Oh, how I truly do love dresses in the summer. They are so super easy to put on and comfy. Mine are, for the most part, casual enough but I can go anywhere during the day and not worry about being under dressed....pure awesomeness...
(two warnings....I AM extremely white and HATE, absolutely HATE pictures of myself...so bear with me. And number two, the 12 year old took the pictures, she didn't quite understand what I was doing!)

(dress:Libertine for Target, shoes:Dexter, bangles:Vanity, Earrings & Necklace:F21, Sunglasses:Icing)

Be sure to check out my partner in crime on this series, and so many others things, Oak House 5, to see what she is wearing.

Goldilocks

If you know me.... and a few of my previous posts, you know how much I truly adore Kate Spade.

This was in one of my recent emails.

Usually not much of a gold fan, but late it has really been grabbing my attention.

This is a bit of picture overload...couldn't help myself

End of Year Bucket Fillers

We were asked to bring items to fill the buckets for the end of school. Usually I bring bubbles, bubble gum, etc.

This year I stumbled upon some pinwheels. I heart pinwheels and so do the little people...

And I printed off a few luggage tags for all the kiddos...

Vintage Birthday Banner

I need to backtrack a bit, between remodeling posts, and show pictures of the paper goods from the last party that was thrown by my friend.

These are pics of the banner I made for the 'Vintage Cherry' themed party for
her. I will be posting more of the rest of the party and paper goods...patience grasshopper...

windy saturday, yet again

I have fallen behind yet again. I can't even remember the last time I actually sat down at the computer and not just used my phone.

We have been insanely busy. Busier than busy. Don't get me wrong, it's great to be busy, but we are pooped.

In between going back and forth between the current projects, I am running ideas through my head on three parties, possibly four, but its not for a little bit.

Random ideas coming to me while I am driving, at home depot, zone off while talking to the electrician, tracking down a plumber...you get the idea.

So I call a
friend and run through thoughts, take a picture of an idea (my pics are out of control, just sat down and had over 500, woohoo...), write it in one of two notebooks I constantly have with me, or write on my hand, which is usually what happens.

But here are the results of above mentioned:

a.)When to above mentioned friend, we are both spouting off ideas and end up getting so far off subject, it's redonkulous.

2.)By the time I go back and look through pics, I have forgotten what the idea was behind it and why I took them in the first place.
c.)Loving my pro/con lists in my notebooks, but can't read my own handwriting half of the time and the shortest of the shorties is with me 87% of the time, soooo she either does her 'homework' on top of my notes, or rips it out.

4.)Writing on my hand is usually my first choice. Its always with me, the battery never runs down or freezes up, I cant misplace it. But it rubs off in not-so-convenient places and, again, I can't read my own handwriting...lovely.

So, the mister and the little mister went on a little trip, and the oldest wanted to have another chickadee over and go to the movies. We did that on Friday.

Then Saturday came...

We would of ventured out.

But the wind blew...

And blew...

And the dirt...

60mph gust...

And blew...

Did I mention the dirt...

Instead, I thought it would be a superb time to do a trial run of ideas for the parties, to see what all they can do on their own/if they like it/will it stick/how much time before hand/etc.

(I do NOT normally have a checkered plastic table cloth on my table. It was a shocker when I found it, why I have it, I can't remember. Those who know me, know how much I love a
checkered chuck wagon ho down, but I am ocd and wanted some protection from the multiple hot glue guns.....and from the girls. Check out the layers under the guns ;))

Hair Clips(and two bracelets)...
Cuffs... Decided to experiment on chipboard letters... To another crazy, and busy, tomorrow, A
