This past weekend something weird happened.
We didn't have anything to do. Well, just on Saturday we didn't, but that is still pretty amazing.
The only thing we had was to babysit my nephew. Most people would call it dog sitting. Technically he is a dog, but acts more like a human, like one of the kids, so we call it babysitting. We are not the biggest animal people, but like I said before, Duke isn't actually an animal, just a big kid.
He doesn't like to go outside, so you have to stand with him while he eats, drinks & takes care of his business. He tends to get scared very often.
He came over on Friday, as he had the weekend before, so he was a tad more comfortable in relaxing and playing with everyone.
The tallest of the short people had a sleep over on Friday, which is now something that happens every weekend, so I guess he felt as if he needed to go into her room and watch for her...

And check things out, specifically under the chair, where he had missed before. I would of moved the chair, if he had asked...

When the Mister came home, we started a fire and relaxed in front of it. Duke seemed to think he needed to join in with the 'fam', so he did...

On to our Saturday, our wonderful, wonderful lazy Saturday. The mister went off to..umm...do something. I can't quite remember. Maybe to tinker on something, who knows. Which left us, once the tallest came back home, to stay in our jamas and be lazy.
All.
Day.
WOW...
See? He even poses for the camera... The three amigos...

After intense playing, you need to rest for a bit and soak up some Spongebob. Unfortunately for Duke, I'm pretty sure he gets to rest quite a bit during the say, so needless to say, my little people wear him out...

He doesn't bark, which makes for a quite and sneaky dog. Never failed, I would open the refrigerator door or pantry, and that feeling you have someone is looking at you? Well, in this case, it would lead to a wet nose...

He is very innocent, right?

So while everyone was having a play/rest day, I, on the other hand, was having a blog stalking day*. And it was wonderful! I usually don't do this because once I start, I cant stop...and I didn't. I had to write down what areas I had read and ideas that were fumbling around in my head. And of course, I can't find a pen, the closest thing was a big, fat purple marker...

Guess I was a little too distracted, cause the little man started attempting to send subliminal messages...

The Mister finally came home, and Duke likes to shill with him, probably cause they like to 'wrestle', as the little peeps say...

There is nothing like being lazy, and rolling around on the floor...

To another crazy, and lazy, day,
A
*I stumbled upon The Lettered Cottage a little over a year ago, and since haven't been able to remember what it was, and it has driven me crazy! So, when I happened to stumble upon it again, I had to go through all of their posts and they are wonderful! Such great ideas and I love what they are doing. So don't be surprised if I mention them again ;)
Several years ago...or a lifetime ago...I worked in a small gift store that also printed stationary, wedding invites, note cards, etc.
I fell in love with it, and have never gotten over my love of paper and wrapping paper. I have boxes of it, not that I ever intend to use it on anything, I'm sure I just thought it was really pretty at the time ;).
Since then, I have constantly messed with it in some way, birthday invites, thank you notes, etc. So when a very, close friend, Kelly Lokey, had asked me, or mayyybe I offered and begged, to help out with her daughters 11th birthday, I was beside myself. It started off with water bottle labels, then I decided to do luggage tags and suggested it for party favors.
I think I might be onto something here...
So off to get more paper...yeah!

All printed out...

Getting ready to finish, luggage tags were front and back...

Before labels were put on...

And after...

Miss Abby's present...

Luggage tags were also used as place cards...

These were sooo yummy...

One of my personal fav's...

They made home made pizzas, that were super good...

Birthday Girl focusing...

Except for this, anchovies, ewwewwww...

And yes...somebody tried it, yuck...

Yummm....
Happy Birthday Miss Abby!!

While watching the grammy's the other night, probably one of the best years that I can remember, I turn to the mister and say "you could get me a stack of Cd's for valentines day...that would be wonderful."
Yes....I still buy Cd's. Evidently I'm only one of a few that still do.
And yes....I have been made fun of because of it...
But I can't help it. I love the case, the pictures, the lyrics...everything about them. As soon as I get home, I import them to my iTunes account, just in case I need to make extra copies ;).
Valentines day roles around, and I open up the card the Mister handed me, and to my surprise it had a gift card in it. And not just ANY gift card. A gift card, but one to a locally owned store that has been in business for 30 years. This truly excited me. I could not wait for Tuesday to roll around to go over there.
The first time, I went in with very little time to spend and got a couple Cd's. Pretty bummed, they didn't have what I was looking for. But what they did have were two employees. These employees, which I won't name, were not the sharpest tools in the shed, as a matter of fact, I don't think they have ever been 'sharpened', EVER.
I can't even explain it, there are no words to describe these two guys. BUT, the only thing they did know was music, go figure. Anything outside of that, your just out of luck.
I payed for my two with my certificate. They didn't charge me tax, maybe they don't know about it (?), and they gave me this in return...

Awesome. Yes, I really think it is. I love it, how it's just a tiny piece of paper, instead of a card. How retro ;). The only problem is I misplace things, but I managed to keep up with this!
So, we head back this past week to 'wrangle' (as the mister says) up some more...
There must be something quite interesting in Q...

Pretty In Pink, anyone?

I have NOT been able to quit listening to them. I caught the four year old singing The Black Keys last week while she was sick. And the 11 year old loves Mumford & Sons...makes me smile...
I, on the other hand, have managed to listen through a whole CD, and not skip around, like I usually do. Normally, I go to the songs I know, then skip around through the rest for a while, till I get tired of the same ones then go on. But, the new Kings of Leon, Come Around Sundown, I have managed to listen to every song, and LOVE.

So, a big shout out, or howdy, goes out to the Mister, who did a super duper job this year.
Love ya bunches..
To another crazy tomorrow,

Guess I bragged a tad too much on Sunday.
We had had a great day...church, lunch & a movie with good friends, a little work, dinner with the fam and another movie at home. All in all, a great day.
hangin out...bieber style...

Monday was bound to perfect:
Little people didn't have school, I could meet up with the current remodel with the kids (a double plus plus), our afternoon was packed with tennis, chiropractor, and first softball practice, but it was ok, or so I thought....
I had allowed 15 minutes between everything, we may be a tad rushed, but it's ok, we would make it.
Then the crying began....her heard hurt, she wasn't hungry, her tummy hurt, she was cold, her throat hurt...if her throat is in her elbow, and all she wanted to do was go home and 'go to bed'.
Rut ro...all while we were going over lighting. She was warm, very warm. Proceeded to load everyone and everything up and go home.
102.2 + Tylenol + nap = wiped out four year old.
Call Dr. G, and they said to head over at 415.
415?
Yes, 415...
No problem, I have managed to be in more than one place at once...but not four.
Call in the reinforcements, and so thankful for the mister's mom who came to my rescue to watch the little mister while the oldest was at tennis.
Strep a negative, flu a positive...Awesome. And by now she had a nap, Tylenol, and fever had dropped some. So as she was spinning on the Dr's chair, the PA was more in shock that she had the flu because of how happy she was.
No school or activities till next week, sweet...even better.
Drive like a mad woman to get the other little people who are standing on the curb of the misters mothers house, load them in without putting the car in park, race like a mad woman to the chiro, rush them in and out without even talking, peel out to be five minutes late to softball....sigh...oh yeah, forgot about supper. Thank God for the mister, who calls and says he will take care of it (and he did the dishes, a double bonus!).
Planning on taking pics of the tallest of the little people, but they were too far out, so...

managed a smile...

First practice...

When the Tylenol and tamiflu kicks in, just sometimes you can still manage to be a little silly...

Ended the Monday with a fierce game of skipbo with the mister and a very short night...

Up to a day full of Sponge Bob and A LOT of holding..

sigh...
to another Crazy tomorrow,
A
